What is a giclée print and how does it differ from a fine inkjet print?
Giclée is a term developed in 1990 to set emerging digital art and superb quality prints apart from more mundane proofs. Now the terms are interchangeable. Here’s a little history of the word’s development: http://www.dpandi.com/giclee/giclee.html
Our Epson 9800 printer enables us to offer giclée printing using the new generation of eight-color fine art UltraChrome™ inks to provide the best, archival digital reproduction available today.
Lumiere offers a variety of fine art substrates including watercolor paper, fine art papers and canvas materials and is constantly expanding our paper selection as we build more profiled papers and printing spaces. If there is a specific paper you wish to use, let us know and we will do our best to satisfy your request.
