Bill has been a pioneer in the archival storage and preservation field. As a founder of Light Impressions Corporation, Bill helped to establish industry standards for archival quality. Bill is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology and was in the first graduate class at the Visual Studies Workshop where he studied with Nathan Lyons.  Bill has always enjoyed creating a business model where “creativity and technology meet" and is often a few steps ahead— enthusiastic to jump into new frontiers such as state of the art digital printing.  When not at Lumiere, he is following his own passion: making photographs.  

Bob Alles

Bob Alles, Store Manager
Bob manages inventory, oversees shipping of web orders, researches new products and manages to keep it all straight... Contact Bob with special orders or archival questions. Bob's an RIT grad with a BFA in Photography and background in retail sales and documentary photography. But ask him about his interests, he just might say, "blues, brews and BBQ!"

Pat Cain

Pat Cain, Framing Department
Pat is Lumiere’s Framing Manager who oversees all aspects of presentation needs from design, special orders, custom mats and assembly of picture frames.  He’s happy to work with you on custom exhibition and quantity framing requests. When Pat’s not working at Lumiere, he is teaching inner city students to use cameras to document their lives and produce great books about their experiences.

Beth Schroeder King

Elizabeth Schrader King, Digital Printing, Scanning, Image Retouching, Photo Restoration
Beth is our fine art digital imaging specialist at Lumiere Photo. She studied fine art photography and digital imaging at Purchase College and hasn’t looked back! In fact, one of her favorite things to do includes photo restoration and digital compositing—practices she also uses in her personal art work.

Mark J. Watts is a Digital Imaging Specialist at Lumiere. He is responsible for scanning, printing, prepress and creative ideas that help keep our digital lab running effectively. In his "spare time", he teaches courses based on the technical foundations of media production--using transferable skills, process refinement, and practical applications. Outside of the office, Mark enjoys the outdoors, bicycling and family time. He holds a BFA in Photography and an M.S.T. (Instructional Design) from RIT.

Ginny Byers

Ginny Byers, Business Manager
Ginny is often the friendly voice you’ll hear when you call Lumiere. Ginny’s experience is in marketing, although she also handles the bookkeeping and customer service issues for Lumiere Photo. Her knowledge of archival storage and presentation products (and daylilies!) make her a valuable resource of information for customers.

Rachel Edwards

Rachel Edwards, Communications
Rachel coordinates communications at Lumiere ranging from advertising promotions, publicity and website content. She graduated from S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University in photojournalism. Rachel is an active in several environmental organizations and is the Co-founder of the Genesee Land Trust.  Her latest initiatives  are urban agriculture and community gardens.  In her free time, you'll find Rachel photographing her garden or hiking with her dog Winston.
